BASIC PRINCIPLE CENTERED HOMEMAKERS' GOALS.
These are the guiding forces in what we do and who we are.
- To be a person of value.
- If a parent, or in a position to affect children, to raise responsible, happy, healthy family members who retain enough of the innocent child to be healthy adults.
- To live in a beautiful living space filled with love, warmth and laughter.
- To have a long-term "everlasting quality" loving relationship with spouse (significant other).
- To have happy family memories.
- To be financially responsible and stable through life.
- To know and practice a meaningful occupation, to know that the family will always have an income.
- To have a developed spiritual facet of life.
- To have a standard of service and giving for my family and myself.
This has changed my whole focus on homemaking. It was a MAJOR AH-HA experience. Now I make my bed in the morning because it reflects back to me that it is part of my spouse's and my sanctuary from an often cold and hard world. These goals give us a job description, expectations defined as a way to measure job quality and performance. It is a measuring stick that only measures me against myself not my neighbor.
