MELVIN, Lloyd B.
MELVIN, Lloyd B. - 69, formerly of Purcells Cove, passed away Thursday, February
4, 1999, at
Melville Lodge, Halifax. He was a son late Jarvis and Victoria (Harnish) Melvin.
He was employed
as a dental supply technician until retirement. Prior to illness, Lloyd was an
avid woodsman,
hunter and angler. He had great respect and love for both people and animals. He
will be
remembered by many for his endless generosity and patience, which was extended
to young and
old at his woodland retreat on the Stewiacke River. All who chose to share in
Lloyd's life were
welcomed. He is survived by sisters, Frances Beaver, Joyce Currul; brothers,
Eric and Graham
Melvin; seven nieces and nephews and their families. He was predeceased by
sister, Jean
Oxner. The body entrusted for cremation to J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149
Herring Cove
Rd., Halifax. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be conducted
by Rev. R.
Appleton, 11 a.m. Monday in the J. Albert Walker Funeral Home chapel. Donations
may be made
to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of one's choice
